According to the Dental Council of India<\/a>, the eligibility criteria is to pass the 12th grade with physics, chemistry, and biology as subjects and obtain at least 50% marks. Additionally, you must also clear the NEET<\/a> exam.<\/p>\n

We worked with a student, Rohan, who got 470 in NEET and was worried about getting a seat. We used information from the Medical Counselling Committee<\/a> (MCC) to find him a good college. You can check NEET rules on the NTA website (https:\/\/neet.nta.nic.in\/). You also need to be 17 years old by December 31 of the admission year, and some colleges want you to know English well.<\/p>\n

How Long Does the BDS Course in India Take?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The BDS course in India lasts five years. For the first four years, you study in classrooms and labs, learning about things like tooth structure or dental tools. During the fifth year of the program, students are engaged in an internship where they interact with patients in a hospital setting, mentored by clinically practicing dentists.<\/p>\n

For example, during your internship, you might help kids get braces or fix cavities. This hands-on time builds your skills. To start the BDS course in India, you need to take the NEET exam. Register for it around March on the NTA website. After results, apply for seats through the MCC for 15% of seats or state counseling for others.<\/p>\n

As a case in point, AIIMS Delhi’s annual tuition fee, including accommodation, amounts to less than \u20b91,000.<\/p>\n

But there are only about 27,000 BDS seats for many NEET students.<\/p>\n

Can International Students Join the Dentistry Course in India?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The dentistry course in India is open to students from other countries. Classes are in English, and the degree is recognized worldwide. You\u2019ll need a student visa, often through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), and most colleges ask for a NEET score.<\/p>\n
