MBBS in Kazakhstan

The National Board of Examinations organizes the MCI Screening Test (FMGE) for students holding an MBBS degree from a recognized foreign institution. The exam is necessary to obtain registration from the NMC or any State Medical Council.

In 2024, the FMGE was replaced by the NEXT, as mandated by the NMC Bill. NEXT serves as a standard test for medical graduates, both Indian and from abroad, to test their abilities uniformly nationwide.

With NEXT, students can get their MBBS certification, the licensure exam for medical practice, and the entrance test for postgraduate medical courses, replacing the previous NEET PG exam. This approach is meant to speed up the assessment process.

NEXT 1 evaluates your theoretical understanding using multiple-choice questions, but NEXT 2 measures your clinical and practical abilities. This ensures a thorough evaluation of both academic understanding and hands-on abilities.

Unlike previous times when the test was twice a year, and focused only on some topics for foreign students, the new NEXT is designed for all students and will involve testing both their theory and practice skills. As a result, all medical graduates in India have the same opportunities for success.

NEXT will make it tougher for foreign medical graduates, as they will have to compete both with Indian graduates and face a more rigorous, two-step evaluation process. Foreign universities will also need to align their curricula with Indian standards.

To assist students through this step, VMAP provides professional assistance and complete guidance for both FMGE and NEXT. VMAP makes sure students are ready to meet evolving requirements and make a successful start to their medical careers in India.
